First Lady/co-Pastor Shannon

First Lady Bio PicPastor Shannon Rene Goodwin, affectionately known as Pastor Shannon, is the devoted wife of Pastor David Anthony Goodwin, Senior Pastor of the True Way Deliverance Church International. She is lovely daughter of the late Chief Apostle Anne Whitmyer-Savannah and the late Deacon Norman Llwellyn Hicks. She is also, the proud mother of one beautiful daughter, Shannekia Renee’ Farrar, and a loving son-in-law, Robert Farrar.

A native Washingtonian, Pastor Shannon attended both the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County public school systems. She received a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Sociology from Allen University, a Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, and a MBA in Human Resources from Strayer University. An advocate of education, Pastor Shannon also holds a MBA-Acquisition Graduate Certificate from Strayer University and a Graduate Certification in Public Leadership for George Mason University. In addition to her secular education, Pastor Shannon has a Master in Ministry and Doctors of Theology for the True Way Deliverance School of Religion; and she is also certified-license Christian Counselor.

Pastor Shannon began her Christian walk in April of 1983, while attending college in Columbia, South Carolina. After returning to the Washington area in 1984, she joined the True Way Deliverance Church (TWD) under the leadership of her mother, the late Chief Apostle Anne Whitmyer-Savannah. She was license and ordained under TWD in 1985; consecrated as the assistant pastor with her husband in 1989.

In November 2002, as a member of the 547th Transportation Company, DC Army National Guard, Pastor Shannon was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While faithfully and effectively fulfilling her job as a soldier, she continued her mission and started the True Way Center of Hope. During her tenure in Iraq, she sponsored a desert revival resulting in over 125 soldiers giving their lives to Christ. Pastor Shannon quickly became well-known throughout Iraq and was called upon to minister to many souls. Although Pastor Shannon has return to the United States the effects of her desert ministry continues to touch lives and win soul for Christ.

In April 2009, after the unexpected passing of her mother, Pastor Shannon and her husband were installed as the Pastors of TWDCI. Pastor Shannon presently serves as the Co-Pastor, Head of the Music Department, President of the “Women of Triumph” Women’s Committee, Vice President of TWD School of Religion, and Anniversary and Women’s Retreat Coordinator.

Pastor Shannon has been preaching and teaching the Word of God under the power and the anointing of God for over three decades. She is a woman of great faith and conviction who continually exemplify her belief in the “Rock” of her salvation. She can say without any doubt or hesitation, as Peter did, “Thy are the Son of the Living God.” It is this type of faith and conviction that has enables Pastor Shannon to effectively draw men and women, both young and old, to the Kingdom of God.
